National Healthy Soils Policy Network

The National Healthy Soils Policy Network (NHSPN) is a group of farmer-centered organizations that serve sustainable, organic, beginning, and/or family farmers.
The Network serves as a clearinghouse and resource-sharing platform for advancing state healthy soils and climate resilient agriculture policies.
In 2023, our members championed 6 bills that were signed into law, or passed their appropriations process. Read a summary of their successes here.

“The Network has been instrumental in helping us strategize our campaigns and outreach efforts for developing soil health policy in Ohio. The Network is a wonderful opportunity to work and connect in community and not in competition.”
- Lauren Hirtle, Ohio Ecological Food & Farm Association (OEFFA)

“The Network is valuable because we can learn from each other, test out ideas and receive peer support, inspiration and encouragement. Sometimes this is lonely and difficult work – knowing that we are all in this together has meant a lot in the last few years.”
— Isabelle Jenniches, New Mexico Healthy Soil Working Group
